Seva is at the heart of Shivasya. Alongside performing, we serve the community all year.
Every February, around Shiv Jayanti, we hold our annual Food Drive. We partner with the Charlotte Marathi Mandal and Second Harvest Food Bank. Second Harvest notes that every $1 donated provides 7 pounds of food. Counting cash gifts that way, a single drive has delivered more than 20,000 pounds of food to families in need.
Every August, around Independence Day, we hold our Humanity Blood Donation Drive. We partner with the Charlotte Marathi Mandal and the Hindu Center of Charlotte. A recent drive brought together 110 donors.
We also join charity 5K and 10K runs and Diwali food collection. We volunteer during community events and natural calamities. Our students earn documented volunteer and service hours — one young member reached 100 hours, largely through Shivasya.
